Antique French Gien Covered Faience Soupière
A beautiful antique covered faience soupière by Gien, France, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Decorated in an elegant cobalt blue floral pattern on a warm ivory ground, this timeless piece features its original domed lid, decorative finial, side handles, and raised feet.
Equally at home on a dining table or kitchen island, it can be used for serving or displayed as a striking centerpiece. Its classic form and richly detailed decoration make it a beautiful example of French faience.
Measurements: 9.5" wide by 5.25" high
Condition: A 1.5" section of the rim is missing (shown in the photographs). The piece remains structurally sound, and the loss is positioned above one handle. The lid fits properly and conceals much of the missing section when displayed. The price has been thoughtfully adjusted to reflect the condition.
